"Thanks for such a great product.  I can now safely survey in areas I never could, without worrying about instruments and targets falling over or getting knocked down.  Last year, we picked up a client who needed surveys of the interior of buildings as well as topo surveys for one of the Six Flags amusement parks which are mostly paved. Needless to say, we were wondering how to stabilize our instruments and targets on concrete and paved parking areas and also super hard and slippery concrete in warehouses. The Tri-Ped system works like a charm and came along right on time. We really appreciate the Tri-Ped system because it really works as advertised."

"I want you to know that TRI-PED is a great product. I’ve used them on asphalt and concrete with outstanding results. When I check into a backsite it always checks in good. From 0” to 10” so we don’t have to re-shoot or double the angle again and again. That’s because they don’t sink into the asphalt. No more waiting to re-level the gun on a hot day. I also feel safe setting up on sealed concrete which is slippery and has always posed a problem for setting grid points with no error. I’m sure the longer I have them the more uses I will find. This is a great new product. Thank you for letting me be one of the first to use them in the field."

"Recently I was given the opportunity to use Tri-Ped in the field. They work great on concrete and especially asphalt, sand and muddy construction sites.  They keep the instrument level and back sites check consistently 10 seconds or less with a robotic or a total station.  They also work well with fixed sights on busy highways or in strong wind. I’m sure I will find many more applications for them in the future. They are a fine and durable product."

Clifton Meyer, Atwell-Hicks in Tampa, FL.

"In the tough times that present themselves today, it is more vital than ever to receive the most out of your equipment for its value.  Preventive maintenance is one of the keys to keeping equipment in top shape.  In addition to regular maintenance, the practices of the crew chief are most vital to the longevity of major equipment. Along with having solid equipment and skilled crew chiefs, allow TRI-PEDS to guard against damage due to: legs being knocked, the wind blowing over the G.P.S. equipment, leg sliding on solid surface due to vibration. TRI-PEDS bring an added insurance against accidents.

EXAMPLES OF USE:  #1

TRI-PEDS set up on a monolith slab foundation allows the collection of all property corners as well as all the building corners from one traverse point.  I believe this to be a great benefit because of the elimination of additional traverse points and the error that comes from moving ahead.  Trying to set legs up on a monolith slab without TRI-PEDS, would require the gun to be attentively manned until completion of work.  In addition slippage could still occur and cause encroachments on set back lines that actually don’t exist.

EXAMPLE OF USE: #2

Often setting up in an asphalt parking lot of a commercial property there is one or two ideal locations to collect all horizontal and vertical information.  TRI-PEDS allow the confident collection of vertical elevations on final as-built asphalt parking lots of commercial properties.  Bumping the legs out of level on asphalt set up requires relieving and checking the height of the instrument.  When using TRI-PEDS,  bumping the gun still requires re-leveling, but more times than not I have noticed that the height of instrument remains the same to a hundredth adjustment.

 EXAMPLE OF USE #3

Sometimes when completing a building project you run into obstacles that were not on the permitting B.T.T. (Boundary, Topography, and Tree) survey, like sidewalks next to property corners, fences, utility boxes, water meters, etc.  TRI-PEDS can be used independently.  Sometimes all that is needed is one for the leg on a tough spot to make the setup stable. TRI-PEDS each have a rubber strap that when used in the crossover pattern simulate the pressure of a properly pushed in leg.  The pressure that is exerted by the strap allows a more stable top than a leg that is setting on the top of a water meter or concrete walk.

EXAMPLE OF USE #4

The using of base station g.p.s. (global positioning satellites) is an excellent use of the TRI-PEDS. As anyone familiar with setting up a base station  g.p.s. the first point has to be a known position. Certified corner records with proper coordinates are almost always in intersection because of the initial breaking up of the land into its section. Whether rented or owned gps equipment in an intersection is less susceptible to being blown over buy passing vehicles (tractor trailer, van, or car) with the use of TRI-PEDS.

As the field coordinator for Robertson and Associates Surveying and Mapping Inc, I  have been very pleased with the added security that TRI-PEDS provide, as well as the personal customer service of the TRI-PEDS, people.  I have only had the opportunity to use the TRI-PEDS for a year but I look forward to many more years of quality service from my TRI-PEDS, as well as new ways to use them to protect my equipment."
